Citymeals-on-Wheels raises private funds to ensure no homebound elderly New Yorker will ever go a day without food or human company. Since 1981, this non-profit co-founded by Gael Greene and James Beard have been serving meals to New York City’s frail, isolated elderly on every borough of the city.

During the past fiscal year, which ended June 30, 2011, Citymeals-on-Wheels delivered 1.7 million meals to 16,916 New Yorkers at times when they would otherwise have been alone and hungry.

The New York City Food Truck Association is proud to announce a partnership with Citymeals-on-wheels, allowing New Yorkers to do good by satisfying their appetite on street food.  From May 1-15, 2012, 35 food truck vendors will collect donations from their patrons to raise funds that will be used to prepare and deliver weekend, holiday and emergency meals to the homebound elderly throughout the boroughs of New York City.

Addicionally, this Saturday May 5, Nuchas will donate 5 % of our revenue to Citymeals.
